Murray spent 19 years as a professional pilot which included flying 33 different aircraft types, accumulating 9400 hours flight time and a number of years in check and training roles. For the past eight years Murray has been a lecturer in pilot studies at South metro TAFE in Perth working at their Aerospace Training Centre facility located at Jandakot Airport. In addition to this he works with Western Australia’s School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) to assist the development and assessment of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) in the field of Aviation. His research with UNSW involves adapting the CASA CBT curriculum to measure safe pilot performance whilst using Flight Data Monitoring, audio and video equipment fitted to DA40 training aircraft.
