Bachelor of Aviation (Management) - 3981

For students enrolling in the Aviation (Management) program your first year is comprised of 4 compulsory core courses (24 UOC), and 4 electives (24 UOC) with one of these electives being a prescribed Aviation Management elective (6 UOC) as follows:-

Semester 1   Semester 2

AVIA1401 Intro to Human Factors
Elective AVIA1901 Aviation Transport Economics

Electives

To choose your electives, 6 UOC must be an Aviation Management course selected from one of the following:

  • MATH1031 Mathematics for Life Sciences (6 UOC) {Offered Semester 1}
  • PHYS1149 Physics 1A (Aviation) (6 UOC) {Offered Semester 1}
  • AVIA1902 Airline Financial Analysis (6 UOC) {Offered Semester 2}

The remaining electives are “free electives” which mean that they can be selected from any School and Faculty across the university, except for general education courses (GEN_ _ _ _). You will be able to choose general education courses in your second and third year. Some courses we would recommend you take for free electives that complement your study of Aviation Management include first year courses offered by the UNSW Business School such as ECON1101 Microeconomics 1. The first number of the course code indicates the level (E.g. XXXX1000 is a level 1 course).

Transferring to Aviation (Flying)

If you are commencing in the Aviation (Management) program and would like to try to transfer to the Aviation (Flying) program the following year, you should enrol in the courses as outlined for the 3980 Aviation (Flying) program.

Bachelor of Commerce / Aviation (Management) - 3835

For students commencing a dual Aviation (Management) and Commerce program, in your first year you will take courses for both of your degrees as follows:-

As part of your Aviation (Management) program you have 6 UOC of Aviation Management first year electives which must be taken from one of the following courses (note: some courses are offered semester 1, some are offered semester 2):
