An ARC Discovery scholarship is available for PhD research to investigate delay propagation in airline schedules and to optimise schedule reliability under uncertainties. The position requires knowledge of stochastic process modelling and linear programming.

Candidates should have a BSc (Hons) in aviation, mathematics or civil/transport engineering with computer programming capacity. Knowledge of airline scheduling and operations research (OR) techniques is desirable.

The scholarship provides $23,866 per annum and is tenable for up to 3 years with a top-up Aviation Scholarship worth $5,000 for the first year. Applications close February 20, 2006 and should include a full CV with academic transcripts plus contact details for 2 referees.
